Evaluation — map of roles

Four roles, not a software ranking

The wrong question is “who wins?”. The right one: where does Cortex sit in your chain. Cortex does not duel your bookkeeping software. It prepares a controllable file upstream. This page compares categories, not percentages.

Organized Accounting Cortex and Bexio

How to read this comparison

No accuracy matrix, no market shares, no marks. Useful criteria are role (who keeps the journal), validation (who judges before export), the master software, and the bottleneck type (document clutter vs books vs mandate).

Category review: 13 August 2026, from public vendor pages and Cortex product truth. No competitor accuracy test was run.

Four categories, four jobs

Choose the job first, then the tool. Cortex occupies only one cell: organised upstream work.

  • Organized Accounting (upstream) — Cortex: clutter → controllable file → export to the software already chosen. Blocking human validation.
  • ERP / all-in-one management suite — Bexio, KLARA and others: invoice, sometimes payroll and till, keep the books in the same stack. Since June 2026 Bexio adds Fiduza (AI inside its suite).
  • OCR-only — API or scanner: read fields. Useful as a component, insufficient as an accounting file.
  • Fiduciary service — a firm takes the mandate, advice, often the filing. Cortex is not that service; it can prepare the firm’s file.

Honest criteria (no score)

Books: if Crésus, WinBiz, Abacus or Banana is already the journal, Cortex complements; it does not replace them. If all management already lives in Bexio, read Cortex and Bexio first — Fiduza may be enough inside that stack.

Control: Cortex shows uncertainty and blocks unvalidated export. OCR-only does not. An ERP may automate inside its perimeter; that is a different contract.

Mandate: a fiduciary service remains responsible for the mandate. A preparation tool is not.

When Cortex is the right role

The bottleneck is clutter (Drive, email, photos, batches), you want to keep your software, you have several mandates or export formats, and you accept review. If you want an ERP, an accuracy OCR, or a firm: that is not this cell.

FAQ

Who wins?

Wrong question. Where Cortex sits in your chain: upstream of the software already chosen, not an ERP duel.

Why mention Fiduza here?

Because Bexio added document AI inside its suite in June 2026. That is a fact of existence, not a ranking. Detail is on the Cortex and Bexio page.

Does Cortex replace a fiduciary?

No. A fiduciary service takes the mandate. Cortex is a preparation tool.
